Indonesian Aqsa Working Group (AWG) distributed iftar meals in 30 cities yesterday while highlighting the plight of the oppressed Palestinians in the occupied territories.

AWG Chairman Anshorullah said the action was taken in solidarity with Palestinians who are standing up against the Zionist attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque while Muslims perform the nightly Ramadan prayers.

“This action is a form of solidarity from us as human beings, especially when it coincides with the month of Ramadan. Indonesians must help the Palestinian people,” Anshorullah said.

Iftar meals were distributed across eastern Indonesia, from Ternate to the regions of East Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, Java, and Sumatra island.

Anshorullah added, helping Palestine has become the focus of the Indonesian Government because it was stated in the preamble to the 1945 Constitution. institutions, leaders of da’wah institutions, leaders of Islamic mass media, and a number of individuals who concentrate on the struggle of Muslims in the context of liberating Palestine.

Israeli occupation forces have repeatedly stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound during the last ten days of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, shooting at worshippers and into the mosque buildings. More than 305 worshippers were injured in the Israeli assault yesterday alone.
