Mohamed Hammouda, official spokesperson for the Council of Ministers of the Government of National Unity (GNU) in Libya, said the text of a government decision to refer Minister of Foreign Affairs Najla Mangoush for investigation is false.

Hammouda said in a statement issued on Sunday that “the circulated decision No. 67, stipulating the formation of a ministerial investigation committee, is fake, and we invite you to always verify the government decisions via the official Gazette.”

The fake decision also referred to Mangoush’s statements, in which she allegedly called on Turkey’s foreign minister to withdraw Ankara’s forces from Libya.

The text stated that the GNU Legal Affairs Department referred Mangoush for investigation after she issued statements that are beyond her jurisdiction without referring to the Council of Ministers.
