The Turkish Foreign Ministry has blamed Israel for the aggression on the Palestinians in the occupied territories, including Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry reiterated that the continuous Israeli aggression on the Palestinians and using “disproportionate” force to oblige the Palestinians give up their rights will never work.

“The Israeli government must finally understand that it will not be able to suppress the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights and demands by using indiscriminate and disproportionate power,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, Turkey’s communications director criticised the US early Wednesday for considering Israeli attacks on Palestinians as self-defence.

“Massacring civilians. Forcing Palestinians to leave their homes and occupying their lands. Attacking mosques. Murdering innocent children. Since when are all those atrocities considered self-defence?” Fahrettin Altun said on Twitter.

“Does the US have not any reaction to these massacres and terrorist acts?” he said.
