An Israeli court in Haifa yesterday extended the detention of two Jordanian citizens who had attempted to infiltrate the Jordanian-Palestinian border, according to the Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs.
They can now be held until Thursday, the rights group said, adding that the court charged the young men with ‘illegal entry’ and did not allow them to have lawyers.
The two Jordanian nationals had attempted to cross the border during pro-Palestine protests last week.
In an historical move, demonstrators cut through the fence dividing Palestine from Jordan and marched through the Jordan Valley.
