Five Lebanese protesters were injured yesterday as the Israeli army fired tear gas at them on the Lebanon-Israel border.

The Lebanese News Agency said the protesters “climbed the concrete wall separating Lebanon and occupied Palestine in the southern [Lebanese] town of Adaisseh.”

According to the agency, protesters threw stones on an Israeli tank and in turn, Israeli forces fired tear gas canisters at them, injuring five and suffocating others.

The protesters also “uprooted the spy cameras installed on the iron tower above the wall,” the agency reported.

The Lebanese-Israeli border is witnessing daily protests against the Israeli aggression against Palestinians in the occupied territories.

At least 213 Palestinians, including women and children, have been killed and 1,442 others injured in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since 10 May, according to the Palestinian authorities. Twelve Israelis have also reportedly been killed.

This comes after Israel’s attempts to stop Muslim worship at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and its assault of worshippers during the last few days of the holy month of Ramadan. Occupation forces were also making plans to forcibly displaced Palestinian residents of the occupied East Jerusalem neighbourhood of Sheikh Jarrah to make way for illegal settlers.
