The Iraqi Ministry of Health said on Thursday that it intends to send medical teams to the occupied Palestinian territory of Gaza to support those injured by the Israeli military offensive against civilians in the besieged enclave.

“The ministry has prepared special medical teams who will travel to Palestine, to support those affected by the bombing and the Israeli military operations,” explained Health Ministry spokesman Saif Al-Badr, without giving further details about the teams.

“Moreover, all Iraqi health institutions are ready to receive any number of wounded Palestinians,” he added.

As of Thursday, the Israeli offensive on Gaza had killed 230 Palestinian civilians, including 65 children and 39 women. A ceasefire came into force at 2am on Friday.
