During their meeting with Egyptian officials, Palestinian factions set three conditions for maintaining the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, an informed source revealed to Al-Ayyam newspaper yesterday.

The red lines, according to the sources, are: halting aggression on Jerusalem and Sheikh Jarrah, as well as no return to the Israeli policy of assassinating leaders of the resistance.

According to the source, the Palestinians passed their conditions to the Egyptians during a meeting held in Gaza, stressing that Israel’s failure to comply with these conditions would end the ceasefire.

The source, who attended the meeting, said representatives of the factions, including Hamas leader in Gaza Yahya Al-Sinwar, reiterated that retaining Israel’s closure of the crossings in to Gaza, banning access to the sea and tightening the siege imposed on it would also lead to the collapse of the ceasefire.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian factions told the Egyptians they would give them enough time to carry out their mediation on condition that Israel does not ignore their redlines, but stressed that they would not remain patient for too long while Israel is continuing its violations in Jerusalem.

The Egyptians said Palestinian factions proposed the formation of a national construction committee, including all sides to rebuild Gaza.
