A Palestinian young man was shot dead yesterday afternoon after he injured two Israeli occupation soldiers, one seriously, in the French Hill area in the northeast of occupied Jerusalem, the Palestinian Information Centre reported.

According to Hebrew media, one of the soldiers was seriously wounded in a stabbing incident, while the Palestinian man was killed immediately by police officers who were nearby.

The stabbing operation happened at a light rail train station in occupied East Jerusalem.

Other news reports claimed that two Israelis were “moderately” wounded in the operation, adding that only one of them was identified as a soldier.

The Palestinian was identified as 17-year-old Jadallah Abdul-Raouf from East Jerusalem.

Video footage circulated on social media showed the Palestinian young man lying on the ground as police officers closed off the area and ambulance crews embarked on helping and evacuating the wounded soldiers.
