The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has stated that the credibility of the US administration is at stake as Israel continues to cause embarrassment by escalating its settlement activities and aggression against Palestinians.

In a statement reported by Wafa news agency, the ministry expressed its hope that the Biden administration would succeed in overcoming the Israeli trials by establishing its credibility and promises, and by implementing its positions and policies.

The statement added that this endeavour would depend on US conduct towards Israeli intransigence on the ground, before the statements that Blinken made in Ramallah, occupied Jerusalem, Cairo and Amman lose their effect.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned the approval of the occupation authorities to build 560 new settlement units southeast of Bethlehem.

The ministry also denounced the ongoing dredging and attacks on pastoral and agricultural land in Al-Aghwar ash-Shamaliyah.

The ministry held the Israeli occupation government fully and directly responsible for the settlement expansion and the confiscation of Palestinian lands, warning of its disastrous consequence on the chances of achieving peace based on the two-state solution.
