ALEPPO, SYRIA – MAY 10: Officials inspect the scene after a bomb attack carried out by PKK, listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU, and Syrian Kurdish YPG militia, which Turkey regards as a terror group, in the city center of al-Bab in northern Syria on May 10, 2020 [Mustafa Bathis – Anadolu Agency]

At least one person was killed and eight others injured on Monday when a bomb-laden bag exploded in Syria’s border town of Al-Rai, security sources said, Anadolu Agency reported.

The bomb was left as a consignment to a shop on the busiest street of the town bordering Turkey.

Firefighters were seen trying to douse the blaze, while the surrounding shops suffered damage.

The injured were transferred to the hospital by ambulance.

Local security forces are considering the possibility that the attack was organized by the terrorist organization YPG or the PKK.
