Israel registers highest number of Covid cases in 2 months

The Ministry of Health in Israel has announced that 293 people tested positive for Covid-19 out of 63,000 who took the tests on Tuesday. This was the highest number recorded in two months.

According to the Jerusalem Post, the number of people tested and those who were positive was similar to the numbers registered on the previous day.

The ministry said on Wednesday that two guests who stayed at the Leonardo Hotel in the Dead Sea area between 23 and 26 June, and participated in dancing activities at the hotel, also tested positive. Everyone who took part in the dancing was asked to get tested even if they do not show any symptoms, are vaccinated or have recovered.

Overnight on Tuesday, the Knesset extended the emergency laws regarding the pandemic for another five months.
