Hamas today described Israeli air strikes on Gaza as a "failed attempt to show off its power." According to Al-Resalah, Israeli planes bombed areas west of Gaza City last night, before striking to the east of Khan Younis. There were no reports of casualties.
Spokesman Hazem Qasim said this was a "failed attempt to show its power and improve the image of the Israeli army which was destroyed by the Sword of Jerusalem battle."
The Sword of Jerusalem was the name given by the Palestinian factions to the Israeli war on Gaza between 11-21 May, when the occupation failed to destroy the infrastructure of the Palestinian resistance.
"These air strikes will not stop our resistance's aim, to regain the rights of the Palestinians," Qasim said. He stressed that the Palestinian resistance "is ready to deal with all scenarios".
