Chief of Staff of the Algerian Army Lieutenant-General Saïd Chengriha on Thursday called to prepare for all possibilities to counter any hostile schemes planned against the country.

“The current international context is unforgiving of the weak, and our country’s regional and international position as a pivotal country par excellence, and its vital strategic location, in addition to the difficult circumstances that our region is witnessing, require us more than ever to continue the diligent work to build a modern, professional army,” General Chengriha told a group of military high school graduates.

“I would like to remind you on this occasion that the efforts that we are making with dedication and sincerity truly express our urgent and continuous desire to improve the performance of the National People’s Army, strategically, operationally and tactically, and to ensure the continuous increase of its combat capabilities,” General Chengriha expressed.

He added that regional security conditions call on Algerian soldiers: “To prepare for all possibilities to ensure the failure of all hostile schemes, orchestrated in secret and in public, against the security and stability of Algeria.”
