The head of the Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, met with the Speaker of Iran’s Shura Council in Tehran on Thursday. Haniyeh and Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian issue, the resistance movement reported.
According to Hamas, Haniyeh is in the Iranian capital with a delegation from the movement to attend the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s President-elect, Ebrahim Raisi.
Also on the agenda of the meeting with the Iranian official was a discussion about Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, as well as Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people, especially in the holy city and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Ghalibaf affirmed the Islamic Republic’s position in support of the Palestinian people, their just cause and their right to resist the Israeli occupation.
