Freed Palestinian prisoner Nasreen Abu Kamil arrived in Hebron yesterday while awaiting Israeli permission to enter the besieged Gaza Strip. “Other freed female prisoners have hosted Abu Kamil in their homes until she is allowed to leave for Gaza,” say local reports.

Abu Kamil told Al-Quds Radio that she has been in Hebron since her release. She pointed out that she was informed that the occupation authorities are “examining” her permit application.

“It’s devastating that other prisoners are still being held in Israeli jails,” she added. ”Female prisoners in Damon Prison have gone on hunger strike in support of other prisoners. They are determined to battle for their fellow inmates.”

In closing, Abu Kamil expressed her hope that there will be a prisoner swap deal agreed between the occupation authorities and Hamas.
