Turkey’s first-ever jewellery and jewellery industry machinery fair in Serbia kicked off in the capital, Belgrade, on Thursday, Anadolu News Agency reports.

Participants from Turkey, Serbia and Italy are displaying their wares and showing off jewellery industry innovations to visitors for three days.

During the fair at the Belgrade Fair Centre, the participants are presenting unique designs of jewellery, accessories, and machinery for the industry.

Turkey’s ambassador in Belgrade, Hami Aksoy, told Anadolu Agency that the jewellery industry has made great progress in recent years.

“The opening of the fair was very good for promoting the Turkish jewellery industry and improving business opportunities in Serbia,” he added.

Gokhan Aksu, project partner of Meridyen International Fairs Jewellery Industry, said that 21 companies from Turkey and four companies from Italy are taking part in the fair.

Aksu said that they organized the fair in order to show Turkey’s production potential and power.

“We’re actually the leading country in the jewellery industry. We provide support to many countries with various events,” he said.

The three-day fair is organized and supported by Turkey’s commerce and tourism ministries.
