The newspaper quoted sources who said the decision excludes those who have residency in Kuwait, noting that the decision applies to the issuance of new visas, including family, tourist, commercial and governmental visits.

The government also suspended family and work visas, according to the newspaper.

On Monday, Lebanese President Michel Aoun said that resolving the dispute between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia requires a sincere dialogue between the two countries.

Aoun added, in tweets published by the Lebanese presidency’s account, that Beirut welcomes “any effort by the Arab League to restore brotherly relations with Saudi Arabia.”

Footage from August – before Kordahi was appointed minister – aired in October showed the information minister describing the war against Yemen as one of aggression by the Saudi-led coalition, branding the conflict as “futile” and said the Houthis were acting in “self-defence”.

Kuwait joined its Gulf neighbours -Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the UAE, in withdrawing its representative to Lebanon and expelling the Lebanese ambassador from its borders.
