The Muslim Brotherhood, led by Deputy Guide Ibrahim Mounir, launched a new website, amid escalating disputes between its leaders.

Internal disputes have recently escalated among the group’s members which culminated last month with the issuance of a number of dismissals against some of the group’s senior leaders.

Last month, a number of senior leaders were ousted from the group after they were referred for investigation over what Mounir considered their actions which amounted to “taking decisions to divide the ranks and create confusion”.

Earlier, Mounir suspended six members of the group’s Shura Council, who live outside Egypt and referred them for investigation.

Mounir said at the time that decisions taken by the dismissed leaders are “void because they violate internal regulations”.

The Egyptian authorities banned the group in 2013 and arrested hundreds of its supporters and senior leaders, thousands of whom remain in prisons to date.
