A Palestinian and Israeli were killed in a shooting attack on Sunday in occupied East Jerusalem near the flashpoint Al-Aqsa Mosque complex, according to Israeli police, Anadolu Agency reported.
A police statement said four Israelis, including two officers, were injured when an armed Palestinian opened fire near the Bab al-Silsila (Chain Gate), one of Al-Aqsa Mosque’s main gates, in Jerusalem’s Old City.
The Palestinian gunman was shot dead by Israeli soldiers, the statement said.
According to Israeli KAN channel, an injured Israeli died later of his wounds.
Israeli police said it was hunting another Palestinian for allegedly helping the gunman.
Palestinian local media identified the dead Palestinian as Fadi Abu Shkeidem, 42, from Shuafat refugee camp in occupied East Jerusalem.
