Kuwait has launched an investigation into the theft of a US army watchtower, Al Rai newspaper reported.

According to the report, the culprits took advantage of the fact there were no surveillance cameras at the camp to steal the 13-metre-tall tower from the Edira area.

The tower and military equipment and vehicles had recently been moved to the site following the conclusion of the Gulf Shooting Exercise 2021 in Jahra Governorate. The military exercise had run from 7-18 November with the participation of Kuwait, Saudi and US forces.

Kuwait hosts a number of US bases.
