The owner of a grocery store in Egypt is reported to have stabbed and strangled a six-year-old girl after trying but failing to rape her.

The 30-year-old man killed the young girl when she started screaming, fearing he would be discovered, reports Gulf News.

The body of the girl was found by her sister in a sack in front of their house the day after they reported her missing.

According to a friend of the victim, the owner of the grocers asked her to find a sack for him in exchange for two Egyptian pounds ($0.13).
