Hamas delegation discusses Palestinian issue with Russian officials in Moscow

Senior Hamas delegation discussed, on Wednesday, the latest developments concerning the Palestinian cause with Russian officials in Moscow.

In a statement, Hamas said that its delegation consisted of members of political bureau, Dr Musa Abu Marzouq and Ezzat El-Rishq, in addition to the Hamas representative in Russia.

Hamas officials discussed the Palestinian cause with Deputy Russian Foreign Minister and Special Representative of the Russian President for the Middle East, Mikhail Bogdanov, and other senior officials from the Ministry.

According to the Hamas statement, the officials briefed their Russian counterparts on the Israeli violations in Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, stressing that the Palestinian people are entitled to resist the Israeli occupation.

They reiterated that the continuing Israeli violations against the Palestinian people and their rights would lead to an escalation.

Meanwhile, the delegation stressed on the necessity to achieve national unity and explained the movement’s vision to end the intra-Palestinian split.

Bogdanov, in turn, said that this visit is part of the Russian endeavours to enhance the bilateral cooperation between Russia and Hamas.

He confirmed his country’s stance in support of the Palestinian cause and the Russian preparedness to push for the intra-Palestinian reconciliation.

The Hamas delegation thanked Russian officials for their position towards Palestine.
