The Secretary-General of Morocco’s Justice and Development Party, Abdelilah Benkirane, yesterday slammed the government, which he says has done “doing nothing since its appointment.”

During the party’s National Council session, Benkirane criticised the government for disapproving four bills, stressing that it was “required to disclose the nature of the amendments it said it would add to the bill.”

Supporting calls on social media for the departure of Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouc, Benkirane said that resolving the issue could not be achieved by “ousting the premier and appointing his deputy, but reelecting a new cabinet.”

“It does not matter what position or seat our party holds in the new cabinet,” he stressed.
