Clashes erupted between Iranian soldiers and Taliban forces near the Afghanistan-Iran border.

Iranian KhabarOnline news site said the clashes took place near the Kamal Khan Dam in southwestern Nimroz province of Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan's Amag news agency reported that "violent clashes" erupted between the Taliban and Iranian border guards on Monday evening with light and heavy weapons in Nimroz province where construction is underway for a new waterway.

An Afghan local newspaper reported that at least four Iranian border guards were killed in the clashes.

Neither Iranian officials nor the Taliban have commented on the incident.

An Afghan provisional official from Nimroz told local media that the issue has been contained.
