UK reveals seizure of Iranian arms shipment bound for Yemen

The British Navy announced an ‘early 2022’ seizure of ‘advanced weaponry’ which it claims was an Iranian shipment intended for Houthi forces in Yemen

The Royal British Navy announced on Thursday its seizure of an Iranian arms shipment earlier this year, which it says was bound for Yemen in contravention of a UN Security Council resolution to prevent support for Yemen’s Houthis.

Tehran has since rejected the UK’s claims as ‘baseless’.
