Indian Muslim wins election despite hijab ban

Indian politician Kaneez Fatima has been protesting for over a year against a ban on hijabs in colleges, in her home state of Karnataka. Despite the ban and the toxic atmosphere created by Hindu nationalist protests, Fatima beat her anti-hijab rival from the BJP to be re-elected to the legislative assembly.
