A group of Austrian politicians visiting Kabul has assured the interim Taliban administration that it will portray a “real picture” of Afghanistan in Europe, Anadolu Agency reports.
According to the Afghan Foreign Ministry, leading members of the Freedom Party of Austria met interim Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, in Kabul on Sunday.
The members of the Freedom Party stressed and promised that they will portray the real picture of the current situation of Afghanistan to Europe and share it with their officials, people and the member countries of the European Union
the Ministry said in a statement.
Quoting one of the members of the Freedom Party, Mr. Yohannes, the statement said: “I regret to say that the current government of Afghanistan, having ensured overall security and putting an end to four decades of conflict of Afghanistan, has not been recognised yet.”
Muttaqi told the delegation: “It must have been clear to you that the situation in Afghanistan is much different to how it is shown and talked about in the media.”
The interim Foreign Minister also discussed the provision of consular services and other facilities for Afghan nationals in Vienna.
“The members of the Freedom Party of Austria deemed the situation of Afghanistan much better than what they had heard from the media,” the statement said.
