Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said viewing the Islamic resistance as solely responsible for the latest war with Israel is an incorrect approach.

“I have to underline one thing, now, when we make our decisions, we need to make fair decisions. It would not be fair to look at the issue only as Hamas,” he said.

“Look, water is not being supplied to Gaza right now. What about human rights? There is no electricity, it is not provided.”

“What about human rights? According to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, you cannot cut off the water. Under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights you cannot cut off the electricity. Can you imagine right now, what kind of situation are the hospitals in Gaza?” he asked.

“But places of worship and hospitals are all being hit mercilessly. Nobody says anything while these are being done.”

He also criticised the United States for sending warships to Israel, saying “What is the US aircraft carrier doing in Israel? What will boats around and aircraft on it will do? They will hit Gaza and around, and take steps for serious massacres there,” Erdogan said in a joint press conference with Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer in Ankara.

Erdogan has previously said that Turkiye is ready to mediate between Israelis and Palestinians to maintain calm.
