An Israeli military strike today resulted in the loss of an entire Palestinian family within their residence in Jabalia refugee camp, based in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, reported Wafa news agency.

The victims included Abdul Rahman Shihab, a former detainee who had served 23 years in Israeli prisons for his resistance against the Occupation. According to a Wafa correspondent, he, along with his wife, children and mother, lost their lives after their home was subjected to shelling without any warning.

The relentless bombing, with numerous missiles and bombs targeting high-rise structures and residences across Gaza, is leading to extensive damage. Several Palestinians, including families with their children, lost their lives in various areas across the blockaded Gaza Strip earlier, Wafa reported.

The northern Gaza Strip’s border regions, particularly north-west of Beit Lahia town, bore the brunt of Israel’s intense bombardment, with flames and smoke rising into the sky throughout the area.

The Health Ministry in Gaza says that more than 1,200 Palestinians have been killed, of whom 171 were women and 326 were children. Of the more than 5,000 who have been wounded in the Israeli bombardment, almost 750 are women and more than 1,200 are children. The sole electric power station has been switched off and hospitals are running out of fuel for emergency generators.
