Republican US Senator Lindsey Graham has sparked anger and widespread condemnation for claiming that Israel is in a “religious war”, encouraging Tel Aviv to annihilate Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.
“I am appalled by anyone who blames Israel for the current situation in the Middle East. Iran and Hamas want to destroy the Jewish state. We’re in a religious war and I unapologetically Stand with Israel,” he wrote on X, to which he attached an excerpt of his comments and a video from Fox News.
I am appalled by anyone who would blame Israel for the ongoing situation in the Middle East.
Iran and Hamas do not want a two-state solution, they want a one-state solution. They want to destroy the Jewish State.

“Do whatever you need to do to defend yourself. Level the place,” Graham said at the end of the video, giving a greenlight to the Israeli war leaders to destroy Gaza.
His statements have sparked condemnation from across the world, including from Arab Christians, who pointed out the suffering of Palestinian Christians under the Israeli occupation regime, including former Al Jazeera broadcaster, Ghada Owais, who responded saying: “Either You are blind or a hypocrite.”
