Member of Hamas’ Political Bureau, Izzat Al-Rishq, said the Israeli occupation army has “failed miserably” to make any political or military achievement in its aggression against the Gaza Strip.

In statements to Quds Press yesterday, Al-Rishq pointed out that with the Al-Aqsa Flood battle entering its tenth day, the Israeli occupation could not help but continue to destroy the infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, demolish homes on top of their residents and commit more horrific massacres against defenceless civilians, most of them women and children.

“All attempts by the Zionist occupation and its supporters to displace our proud people in the Gaza Strip by force have failed… thanks to the legendary steadfastness [of Palestinians], and belief that the path to victory is paved with resistance and steadfastness, while the Palestinian resistance succeeded in expelling the settlers from our occupied land around the Gaza Strip.”

Al-Rishq criticised the Western’s “false propaganda and incitement” against Hamas, the Palestinian resistance and the Palestinian people’s struggle.

He referred to “the miserable attempt of Western media to create a gap between the movement and its popular incubator in all arenas of the country and abroad.”

Al-Rishq stressed that “the legendary steadfastness that our people in Gaza maintain with the Palestinian resistance has thwarted all attempts by the Western media to distort the reality of what is happening.”
