Israeli occupation forces this morning conducted a military raid and an extensive arrest operation across various regions in the occupied West Bank, resulting in the detention of 115 Palestinians.

According to Wafa news agency, among those detained were 50 workers in Hebron from the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli soldiers arrested 16 Palestinians from Ramallah, 15 from Bethlehem and two Palestinians, including a former detainee, from Nablus.

The Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Authority reported that, since 7 October, the occupation army detained a total of 680 Palestinians in the West Bank, including Jerusalem. Of those detained, 25 per cent were minors and Palestinians with health issues.

Israeli occupation forces frequently target Palestinians in military raids, subjecting them to violence and harassment.

Tensions in the occupied West Bank have escalated significantly since 7 October after the Palestinian resistance initiated Operation Al-Aqsa Flood against Israel, a multi-pronged surprise attack including a barrage of rocket launches and infiltrations into Israel.

The resistance said the offensive was in retaliation for the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem and Israeli settlers’ growing violence against Palestinians.

In addition to the siege, the Israeli military launched Operation Swords of Iron “against Hamas”, with strikes killing over 2,750 people, including 750 children. The majority of those affected are civilians and rights groups have warned that a genocide is being carried out against the Palestinian people.

Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories is illegal under international law.
