The Saudi Council of Ministers called for an immediate ceasefire, lifting the siege on Gaza and pushing forward the peace process in line with UN Security Council resolutions as well as the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative that is aimed at establishing an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

During its session shared by King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and held in Riyadh yesterday, the Saudi Cabinet reiterated the kingdom’s categorical rejection of calls for the forced displacement of the Palestinian people.

Following Israel’s bombing of the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza yesterday, Saudi also said: “This dangerous development must force the international community to abandon double standards and selectivity in applying international humanitarian law when it comes to Israeli criminal practices, and requires a serious and firm stance to provide protection for defenseless civilians.”
