Gaza: Medic finds son's body at hospital where he works

A medic in Gaza learns his son has gone missing. He joins his family who had come to the hospital looking for the seven-year-old when a journalist recognises the child's description and realises he had found him among the rubble and carried him to the hospital. His lifeless body leaves the family in tears. More than 1,500 children have been killed in Gaza since Israeli large-scale bombardment of the besieged enclave began on 7 October 2023 following a surprise attack by Hamas. Many of those killed in Israeli air strikes and pulled out from under the rubble are buried unidentified or in mass graves as lack of electricity and large numbers of casualties leave hospitals unable to cope or hold them in morgues.
