A senior official in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) yesterday warned that Tehran will strike the Israeli port of Haifa if Tel Aviv invades the besieged Gaza Strip.

Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC, Brigadier General Ali Fadavi, said the Palestinian resistance is capable of moving on its own and has sufficient numbers in Gaza, however, if Israel foolishly decided to invade Gaza, Iran “will launch missiles directly toward Haifa”.

Last week, the IRGC said, “If Israel’s crimes against Gaza do not stop, there will be another shock waiting for them,” adding that “the resistance forces’ shocks will continue against the Zionists, until this cancerous tumour disappears from the world’s map.”

In his Monday address, General Fadavi said: “If the evil people of the world want to carry out a foolish act such as invading the Palestinian territories, they will face a miserable failure and will receive a decisive response from the resistance front,” according to Mehr Agency.

At the same time, he stressed that Iran does not give weapons and missiles to the Palestinian resistance forces, because they produce their own weapons.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has recently accused Israel of “committing genocide in the Gaza Strip before the world’s eyes.”
