Muslim voter support for the leading parties in the UK has seen a significant drop as a result of Israel’s genocidal bombing campaign in Gaza.

In a poll carried out ten days after Israel launched its attack, Muslim Census and MEND found that 98 per cent of respondents have a negative view of both the Conservative and Labour parties following their response to events in Israel and Palestine.

With almost the same number – 96 per cent – saying the situation had changed their voting intention.

Labour’s response has led to a dramatic drop of 66 per cent in the Muslim Labour vote. If this were to be extrapolated for the entire audience using ONS Census 2021 data, Labour would risk losing votes from 1.5 million Muslims, the Muslim Census revealed.

The Conservative vote also dropped eight per cent, it added.

It found that the majority of the almost 29,000 respondents would not vote if an election was held tomorrow, while 21 per cent would opt for independent candidates and only 4.9 per cent and 0.6 per cent would choose Labour and the Conservatives respectively.

“This survey should be a seismic wake up call for the Labour leadership, it cannot take the Muslim vote for granted anymore. If the party wants to retain this vote, on issues like the Genocide in Gaza it will have to ensure its positions are in line with international law and justice,” MEND CEO, Azhar Qayum, said.
