Thousands stormed an airport in Dagestan, a republic in Russia, yesterday protesting against the arrival of an Israeli plane.

Dagestan media published a video showing huge crowds storming the gates of Makhachkala Airport, the capital of the Republic of Dagestan, and trying to reach the runway to force the plane to turn back.

Palestinian flags were raised and protesters chanted “God is Great” throughout Makhachkala Airport.

Russian media said: “The Dagestan branch of Russia’s Investigative Committee, which probes major crimes, said late Sunday night that it had opened a criminal case on charges of ‘organising mass unrest,’ a crime punishable by up to 15 years in prison.”

Demonstrations and vigils continue across the world denouncing the aggression launched by the Israeli occupation against the Gaza Strip on 7 October, leaving more than 8,000 Palestinians killed and about 20,000 wounded, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza.
