Israel’s reaction to the Palestinian resistance’s operation “exceeds the rules of international law on proportionality”, Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store warned on Sunday.

“Civilians must be taken into account, and humanitarian law is fully aware of that. I believe that the line has now been far exceeded by Israel,” Store told public broadcaster NRK in an interview.

The official added that his primary concern is failure to get emergency aid into the Gaza Strip where the situation is “catastrophic”, adding that the failure to receive aid “clearly violates the rules of war or humanitarian law.”

On Friday, Norway voted in favour of the United Nations resolution calling for a permanent and immediate humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

The death toll from the Israeli aggression on Gaza has reached 8,306, including 3,457 children and 2,136 women, in addition to more than 21,000 wounded, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza. However, these figures are increasing by the hour.
