The Israeli army announced on Friday the evacuation of about 260 wounded soldiers from the Gaza Strip in roughly 150 air and ground rescue operations to hospitals in Israel.

The Israeli army posted on X: “Raw Footage: 669 Unit Rescues Wounded from Gaza. Since the beginning of the war, the unit, along with other units, has operated in Gaza under constant fire, rescuing and treating IDF soldiers. So far, they have carried out 150 ground and rescue operations, evacuating 260 wounded soldiers to hospitals.”

The Israeli army also noted: “Specialised teams evacuate the wounded from the area and are joined by teams that are dropped at different points, which shortens the evacuation time and saves human lives.”

The army announced the killing of 25 soldiers since the start of the Israeli ground operation in Gaza about a week ago.

At dawn on 7 October, the Hamas movement and other Palestinian factions in Gaza launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood in response to: “The continued attacks by Israeli forces and settlers against the Palestinian people, their property and their sanctities, especially Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem.”

The Israeli army then launched Operation Swords of Iron and continues to launch intensive raids on many areas in the Gaza Strip, which is inhabited by more than two million Palestinians who suffer from deteriorating living conditions as a result of an ongoing Israeli blockade since 2006.
