Dozens of Palestinian civilians were killed and many more were injured in an Israeli air strike this morning, which specifically targeted a United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Refugees (UNRWA) school in western Gaza.

The UNRWA school had provided shelter to thousands of displaced Palestinians, reported Wafa news agency.

Moreover, due to the continuous artillery shelling in the western part of Gaza City, near Al-Asar junction, ambulance teams were prevented from reaching the injured.

It comes after the Palestinian Minister of Health, Mai Al-Kaila, yesterday expressed her concern regarding the escalating attacks against Gaza and its impact on the region’s healthcare services.

She issued a warning about the ongoing Israeli assaults on hospitals, putting the lives of patients, medical professionals and evacuees at risk. As a result of either a critical shortage of medical resources and fuel or unrelenting Israeli bombardment, 16 out of Gaza’s 35 hospitals are currently non-operational.

Israel has been bombing Gaza for a month, killing 10,305 Palestinians, including 4,237 children, 2,719 women and injuring more than 25,000 others.

Civil Defence teams have been unable to free those trapped under the rubble due to the lack of heavy lifting equipment and machinery. As part of its genocidal war, Israel has cut off water, food, medicine, electricity and fuel to Gaza, where approximately 2.3 million Palestinians live, a majority of them children.
