Israeli media outlets revealed fears among settlers residing in the illegal settlements built in the occupied West bank, that their settlements could be exposed to a mass Palestinian attack and called for the deployment of tanks to protect them.

Israel Hayom reported that during a meeting between settlement leaders and the Israeli war cabinet yesterday, the settlement leaders complained about the lack of security in the occupied West Bank and the lack of protection for their illegal settlements.

They called for the deployment of tanks in the illegal settlements to maintain their security, prevent Palestinian farmers from entering their land, establish buffer zones that prevent Palestinians from reaching the vicinity of settlements, and to demolish Palestinian homes near settlements.

There are more than 726,000 illegal settlers living in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, distributed among 176 settlements and 186 outposts, according to the annual report of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission.

All settlements and outposts are illegal under international law.
