UNICEF spokesperson James Elder visited Palestinian children at the Intensive Care Unit in a hospital in Gaza. He mentioned that journalists were banned from covering the situation with the children and described it as 'the worst thing I've seen in my 20 years with UNICEF.' He also recorded a video featuring a five-year-old Palestinian girl named Selma in her hospital bed. In the video, he expresses that everywhere there is another Selma. Elder noted that he sees different children in the beds each day when he visits the hospital, as some of them haven't made it through the previous day, despite the heroics of the doctors and nurses.
