Israeli forces open fire on displaced Gazans returning to the north

At least 5 Palestinians were killed when Israeli forces opened fire on thousands of displaced people who were trying to return to their homes in northern Gaza after a rumour spread that an Israeli checkpoint had reopened. Gazans, including women and children, were met with Israeli bullets and bombs as they travelled up the Salah Al-Din Road, which runs along the coast, causing many to run back south in fear for their lives.
