Chilean football team calls for end to Gaza genocide

Chilean football team Club Deportivo Palestino has displayed weekly solidarity with the people of Gaza. As Israel's assault on Gaza nears its 200th day, the team this week carried a banner across the football pitch calling to 'stop the genocide in Gaza', in Spanish, English and Arabic. Palestino is a team that was founded by Palestinian immigrants to Chile in 1920. Chile has one of the largest diaspora communities of Palestinians outside the Arab world, with migration from Palestine to Chile since the 1800s.
