Columbia University student returns to protest following arrest and eviction

'There's nothing they can do to silence our movement,' says Maryam Iqbal, a student from Columbia University who was arrested, suspended and evicted from her accomodation at Barnard College due to her participation in the pro-Palestine encampment on campus. Dozens of students at Columbia University faced arrest, suspension and eviction from campus housing over the course of last week for taking part in the encampment taking place on university grounds in protest against Israel's ongoing war on Gaza. The protests gained momentum after more than 100 individuals, including students and faculty staff, were arrested at the university, spreading to several other major universities across the United States.
