More than 700 goats have been killed as a result of three raids carried out this morning by Israeli occupation forces on Mount Toura in the Jezzine region of southern Lebanon, according to Anadolu.
The National News Agency reported that Israeli aircraft carried out three raids at dawn on Mount Toura, which led to the destruction of a goat barn and the shepherd’s house.
Hours later, the Syrian shepherd working on the farm was found in good condition, according to the agency.
It also reported that the raids led to the death of more than 700 goats.
For its part, the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture condemned in the strongest terms, “the raids launched by the brutal Israeli enemy targeting a goat farm in Jabal Toura – Jezzine region.”
It stressed that “this aggressive act constitutes a flagrant violation of Lebanese sovereignty and international law.”
Tensions have soared along the Blue Line between Hezbollah and Israel since the occupation state launched its genocidal bombing campaign on Gaza in October. Recent escalations have led to fears that an all-out war could break out, especially with the Israeli army announcing a week ago that it had “approved” operational plans for a “massive attack” on Lebanon.
