Photographs of female Israeli soldiers captured from the Nahal Oz Military Base in the Gaza envelope settlements on 7 October have been released by their families.
According to Ma’an News Agency, the detainees pictured are: Liri Albag, Naama Levy, Karina Ariev, Agam Berger and Daniela Gilboa. On Tuesday evening, Israeli media published their documentation of the first days of their being held in captivity by Al-Qassam Brigades in Gaza.
The decision to release the photos is being linked to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s trip to the US. Earlier on Tuesday, Al Jazeera quoted Netanyahu as saying that they do not intend to lose the war in Gaza.

“We do not intend to lose our current fight,” said the Israeli leader. “We are fighting a terrorist party that wants to destroy us, and we are determined to win the battle. We will prevent a repeat of what happened in October. We must return all the hostages held in Gaza to their families.”
Netanyahu also reiterated his oft-stated war aim of eradicating the Islamic Resistance Movement. “We must uproot all wings affiliated with Hamas,” he insisted. “Despite the heavy prices we may pay in our war on Gaza, we must defeat Hamas.”
