Hamas has accused the United States of being complicit in Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, as Israel resumed its indiscriminate bombing of displaced Palestinians in the Mawasi area, west of the city of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip.
“The [Israeli] occupation’s deliberate bombing of displaced people in UNRWA’s Al-Razi School in the Nuseirat refugee camp, and the Mawasi area… is a brutal Nazi-like act that devastates humanity, as the fascist Israeli occupation continues committing the crime of genocide after ensuring impunity from punishment and accountability from the international community throughout the period of its brutal aggression against our people in the Gaza Strip,” Hamas said in a statement yesterday.
The movement stressed that “in the face of this level of criminality and brutality, the American administration led by President [Joe] Biden bears full responsibility for this systematic killing of our people, with its continued political and military support for the [Israeli] occupation and its Nazi army, and because of its obstruction of international justice seeking Zionist war criminals.”
Scores of Palestinians were killed and others were injured yesterday in Israeli air strikes on the Mawasi area which has become a refuge for thousands of displaced families who were forced to flee their homes across Gaza as a result of Israel’s ongoing aggression.
The US, Israel’s main ally, has vetoed three draft UN resolutions which called for an “immediate ceasefire” in Gaza and has continued to provide Israel with munitions and the bombs it has been using against Palestinians.
Israel stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
