Morocco: Dean refuses to honour student wearing keffiyeh
The Dean of the Faculty of Sciences at Ben M'Sik University in Morocco's Casablanca, Muhammad Al-Talbi, refused to hand a student her certificate during graduation because she was wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh. In a video circulating on social media, Al-Talbi can be seen asking the female student to remove the scarf and when she refuses he steps down and declines to take part in the ceremony. Rachid Sammoud, the director of the Higher School of Technology of Casablanca, was then asked to hand her the certificate. The student received a standing ovation for not backing down, while Al-Talbi was forced out of the graduation ceremony.
