Turkiye FM meets Arab League envoys in Ankara

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a meeting with the ambassadors of Arab League nations today.

The meeting was announced on the X by the Turkish Foreign Ministry. “Our Minister Hakan Fidan met with the ambassadors of Arab League countries in Ankara,” it said.

The meeting highlights Turkiye’s ongoing diplomatic engagements with the Arab League, fostering dialogue and cooperation between Ankara and the member states of the regional organisation.


Relations between Turkiye and Arab League member states have recovered over the past few years after ties were severed between Egypt and Turkiye following the 2013 military coup that ousted Cairo’s first democratically elected president.Ties with Gulf states Saudi Arabia and the UAE were also tense after Ankara supported Qatar in 2017 when the monarchies imposed a blockade on it.
